PASSARIM

PASSARIM is a reunion of four Brazilian musicians and songwriters who share a love for Brazilian music, specially the Bossa Nova of Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto.

The project started in 2017 celebrating the 30 year anniversary of Jobim's gold album Passarim (1987). From São Paulo's intense indie music scene, João Leão, Tika, Kika, and Igor Caracas carefully adapted the album's original vocal and orchestral arrangements into a reduced formation with unique style, arriving at a renewed Bossa Nova vibe with vocal effects, electric guitars, synths and a touch of psychedelia. The performance is classy, captivating and magnetic.

The group has showcased with great success through the main jazz venues and theatres in and around São Paulo (Brazil) since 2017, releasing two official singles in 2020.

In 2024, 30 years since the passing of our beloved Jobim, the group presented a very special performance in São Paulo featuring Jaques Morelenbaum and Paula Morelenbaum, two original members from Jobim's ensemble. The group had their first international tour through Canada, performing in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and the east coast provinces.
